Hello my lovelies! As you have landed here I am going to take a wild guess and say you have already started or are looking to start your journey to self love and acceptance. I am so pleased for you! Self love is the basis to living a peaceful, happy and fulfilled life. After all, if we don’t love and pour into ourselves how can we truly love and pour into others? For us single mums though, finding the time to take care of ourselves can be tricky. So I am going to share with you a trick I use as a busy single mum that has allowed me to go from self loathing to self love with absolutely no free time as a single mum, and that is Guided Meditations For self love.

What Are Guided Meditations?

If you have been following me for a while, you will see I have mentioned Guided meditations quite a bit! But if you are completely new here or to meditation full stop, you are likely wondering what on earth a guided meditation is!

It is fairly simple really. Guided meditations are usually videos or audios, where a narrator will gently guide you through the meditation, keeping you focused and leading you through a peaceful narrative to achieve your meditation goal. Whether that is inner peace, stress relief, healing, or many others.

There will often be calming music and soothing frequencies playing in the background which will allow you to slip into a meditative state. No, please do not confuse this with hypnosis… that isn’t what we are doing here! Guided Meditations are a fantstic Mindfulness practice that can easily be worked in to your daily routine.

Meditation is well know for:

  • Reducing Stress
  • Aiding a Good nights sleep
  • Enhancing your mood
  • Lowering Blood pressure
  • Envoking a sence of calm, peace and serenity

There are also many other fantastic benefits to meditation especially guided medition, such as helping you on your spiritual journey, clearing and self limiting beliefs, helping through grief. The list is endless and helping you along on your self love journey is one of them.

What Are Guided Meditations For Self Love?

Just like any other guided meditation, guided Meditations for Self Love will gently and lovingly guide you into a state of inner peace and give you a sense of appreciation, compassion and forgivenes for yourself.

Self love Guided Meditations work to allow you to find your inner peace and connect to your higher self. This fantastic mindfulness practice allows you to really celebrate yourself, your awesomness, your caring and loving side and rid yourself of any negative limiting beliefs about yourself that you may have formed over the years.

You know that little voice you hear inside your head? That voice who loves to tell you how unworthy, unloveable, fat, ugly, and stupid you are? That my friend is your inner critic. And it needs to be silenced! It is all lies! You are worthy, loveable, beautiful, kind, and smart. And Self love guided meditations will remind you of that and silence that little voice that tells you otherwise!

How can Guided meditations help me on my self love journey as a busy Single Mum?

As with any self-love journey, or any journey through life really, taking time to take care of your mind, body and soul needs to be your number one priority! But as single mums, it isn’t always that simple. Yes we need more than most people to make sure that we are making time for ourselves as we have little people who solely rely on us. We need to be putting ourselves first. But more often that not, we simply do not have time or the energy.

That is why guided meditations are so helpful to us, so we can still get in that self care and ‘me time’. I find them a perfect practice for busy single mums as they can be as short as a couple of minutes long. So you can fit it in quickly whenever you get the chance. That way, We can still do the inner work. But we are not spending hours a day doing it and then giving up because it feels impossible.

I like to make sure I have specific self care rituals or practices booked in my calendar and it is easy to find a quick 10 minute slot. I usually fit my meditation in in the morning before the kids wake up, my mind is more open and receptive to them then. This is idealy the best time for mindfulness, so I spend half an hour each morning doing my mindfulness, gratitude and manifestation practices.

The mornings may not be the best time for you though, I know that this never would have worked for me when my kids were babies as they were awake and crying before me. So fit it in anywhere, when the baby goes down for a nap, or even pop one on as you drift off to sleep… I often do this when I have had a super busy day. It is still efective.
